COVER DIMENSIONS : 2026

Cover Dimensions is a themed cover art showcase within The Portal: Experience, where artists submit an original cover artwork inspired by Power Rangers, Resident Evil, or a creative fusion of both.

Artists are invited to create a cover-style illustration that feels bold, cinematic, dramatic, and visually striking — as if it could be the front cover of a comic, special edition release, crossover event, or collectible publication.

Your artwork may be inspired by:

  • Power Rangers

  • Resident Evil

  • Power Rangers x Resident Evil fusion concepts

Artists may create a piece inspired by one of these worlds individually, or combine both into a single original concept. The final artwork should feel intentional, high-impact, and designed as a true cover image, not just a general illustration.

We encourage artists to think about elements such as:

  • strong focal composition

  • atmosphere and tension

  • character presence

  • action, suspense, or horror-inspired storytelling

  • cover-worthy visual impact

  • original interpretation within the selected inspiration

This initiative is designed to celebrate creativity, concept-driven illustration, and bold visual storytelling through original cover-inspired artwork.

Approved submissions may be featured in the official Cover Dimensions online gallery. Selected works may also be considered for exhibition during The Portal: Experience as part of a special showcase inside Imaginarium.

Some selected works may also receive special recognition through:

  • Cover Dimensions Distinction Award

  • Cover Dimensions Vision Award

ARTWORK CREATIVE DIRECTION

For Cover Dimensions: 2026, artists must create an original cover-style artwork designed as the visual foundation of a future official cover composition.

The submitted artwork should focus entirely on the illustration itself and should be created as a strong standalone image that captures the mood, energy, and concept of the selected inspiration.

The artwork should:

  • be inspired by Power Rangers, Resident Evil, or a creative fusion of both

  • feel like the visual base of a comic cover, crossover release, horror special, cinematic edition, or collectible publication

  • emphasize composition, atmosphere, character presence, action, suspense, tension, or horror-driven storytelling

  • present a clear and impactful central idea

  • include visual elements that help the piece feel immersive, dramatic, and aligned with the spirit of the event

Artists are encouraged to explore ideas such as:

  • heroic or corrupted character presence

  • dramatic confrontations or transformation moments

  • survival horror tension

  • infected creatures, dark dimensions, labs, ruins, warning lights, eerie environments, or cinematic background elements

  • visual concepts that connect naturally with the atmosphere of The Portal: Experience

The artwork should not include:

  • title text

  • logos

  • issue numbers

  • credits

  • publisher marks

  • graphic overlays

  • finished cover wording or layout elements

  • AI-generated elements

In other words, artists should submit the illustrated artwork itself, not a finished graphic cover layout.

A personal artist signature is allowed, but it should be placed in a strategic area of the artwork where it does not interfere with the composition, important visual elements, or any official overlay elements that may be added later by event production.

Official cover graphics, titles, logos, and other overlay elements may be added separately later if selected.
